It was revealed that former Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg, who now works for Facebook, helped bankroll the Scottish LibDems disastrous election campaign which left them with 'minor party' status. Meanwhile Ruth Davidson, who was nominated for a life peerage, has not yet joined the House of Lords because she has not agreed on what she will be called. All suggestions welcome.

Former PM Gordon Brown, who recently set up an anti-independence thinktank called 'Our Scottish Future', had a secret meeting with Prince William and Kate Middleton at Holyrood Palace, apparently to discuss matters relating to the possibility of another Scottish Independence referendum.

A Home Office immigration raid in Kenmure Street, Glasgow, had to be abandoned after over a thousand protesters rallied round, preventing their vehicle from leaving. A seven-hour stand-off followed, at the end of which the two targeted men were released. The BBC's report on the story lasted all of 25 seconds and consisted of a single tight shot around the van, making it appear as if there were only a handful of protesters present.

George Galloway of the All For Unity party tweeted: "It’s only a snap-shot because I almost never watch it but: is it the Mission of @BBCScotland to make us look and sound like a nation of Janey Godleys and Rab C Nesbits? It’s excruciating... Most Scots neither look nor sound like that. We are a people who made it big all over the world as artists architects engineers film and television professionals - we even invented the damn thing! I’m sitting here with my wife watching jakies!" Comedian Godley hit back, saying she refused to be ashamed of her working class roots or accent. Rab C Nesbit was unavailable for comment.

Labour's newly installed Scottish branch manager Anas Sarwar used the surprisingly unambitious slogan 'for a better opposition' in his election campaign. It seemed the 2021 election was the first in which only one person was campaigning to be First Minister.

Following Prince Philip's death at the age of 99, the BBC’s full TV schedule was replaced with news coverage of the event synchronised across all its networks. Cancelled shows include the Masterchef final, The One Show, EastEnders and Have I Got News For You. They were forced to set up a special complaints form after being inundated with messages about its wall-to-wall coverage.
