The Brexit Bar

Nigel Farage's Brexit Party, set to do well at the forthcoming European election, received a surprising vote of support from former Labour MP George Galloway. Meanwhile, Ukip revealed that its Scottish candidates would include Mark Meechan, the man who was fined for teaching his pug dog to respond to phrases such as 'gas the jews' and 'sieg heil'.

Oh! You Petty Things

Sky News presenter Kay Burley claimed an independent Scotland would have to join the Euro and accused Ian Blackford of "mansplaining" when he corrected her. The Labour leader said “We are now in the midst of a full-scale national crisis,” but walked out of a meeting to discuss next steps because Chuka Umunna was there. And the PM is now surely in the last days of her premiership.

Abstaining For Scotland

Scottish Secretary David Mundell abstained on a government vote to rule out a no-deal Brexit in order to save his own job. Meanwhile, Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond summed up Tory disdain for Scotland when he said in parliament, “Scotland gets its fair share, and precious little thanks we get for it”.

For The Many, Not The Spew

In a photo opportunity at a mother and baby unit at St John's Hospital, Nicola Sturgeon held a baby who threw up on her. Around the same time, a poll showed that only 37% of Labour voters knew that Richard Leonard was the leader of the Scottish branch. Just in time for their spring conference.
