Rishi Sunak's election campaign got off to a very unfortunate start. First, he announced it in the rain without an umbrella while a protester played 'Things can only get better'. Visiting a factory in Wales he asked “So are you looking forward to all the football?” (Wales did not qualify for Euro 2024.) Then he was asked questions by two people who turned out to be Conservative councillors. Then he travelled to Belfast visiting the Titanic Quarter and was asked whether he was captaining a sinking ship. After two days, he announced he would be taking a day off.
