Having prevously said she would do anything to stop no-deal Brexit, new Liberal Democrat leader Jo Swinson then refused to be included in any scheme that involved Jeremy Corbyn. Swinson offered her own plan to install either Ken Clarke or Harriet Harman as a caretaker prime minister. It's thought to be the first time a Libdem leader decided who should govern the country.

Both Ruth Davidson and David Mundell said they could not work with Boris Johnson as Prime Minister, but in a surprise move (not surprising at all), once Johnson topped the first ballot to succeed Theresa May, both changed their tune. And this was the week that the UK Government strengthened its presence in Scotland, opening a new hub in Edinburgh with 3000 civil servants from a range of departments. Not creepy at all, eh?
