And speaking of inappropriate, Davidson signed off for her holidays tweeting a racy picture of X-Files star Gillian Anderson. And whilst the DUP secured £2bn from Westminster, the Scottish Conservatives secured.. the removal of a flag.

The Scottish branch of the Conservative Party launched their manifesto which included two items already firmly in place in Scotland - winter fuel payments for the elderly and free prescriptions. They might as well have said 'vote for us and we won't take away all these things other parties came up with'. Also, Kezia Dugdale wasted a huge amount of time at First Minister's Questions complaining about Wings Over Scotland.

In the May 4th Scottish council elections, the SNP were the outright winners, increasing their share of the vote, number of seats and margin over the second-place Tories. But if you'd been listening to the Scottish press, you'd assume it was a massive defeat and that the Tories had swept all before them. The Tories ran on a 'No second referendum' platform and lost - raising the question 'will they accept the verdict?'
